Meet Trace, a Greensboro Day School senior with a bright future ahead of him. As a passionate basketball player, Trace is headed to college with big dreams—both on and off the court. While he’s known for his incredible skills on the hardwood, he’s also a dedicated student, a quiet thinker, and a bookworm who loves to immerse himself in new ideas.
During our session in downtown Greensboro, I had the chance to capture Trace’s love for basketball in a few iconic spots around the city. One of my favorite shots features Trace dribbling his basketball in front of a massive Star Wars mural. The bold colors of the mural and the intensity in Trace’s eyes perfectly symbolize the strength, focus, and ambition he brings to everything he does. We also captured him in motion under a dynamic water fountain display, blending the energy of the city with his natural athleticism. Lastly, we found a small, quiet basketball court where Trace’s talent truly shone, away from the noise, just him and the game he loves.
What makes Trace truly remarkable is his balance between athletics and academics. He’s a thoughtful and intelligent young man who approaches life with a sense of calm and purpose. Despite his reserved nature, you can feel his passion and dedication, whether it’s in the classroom or while dribbling a basketball.
This session was a reminder of how powerful senior portraits can be. It’s not just about the images—it’s about telling the story of who you are and where you’re headed. For seniors like Trace, that story is filled with dreams of college, sports, and future success. Capturing those moments, especially for someone with such an inspiring journey ahead, is why I love being a senior portrait photographer.
